INJECTION LIPOLYSIS

Injection lipolysis (or mesodissolution) is a mechanism for breaking down fatty tissue. This is achieved by injecting special preparations into the subcutaneous fat layer, which activate the breakdown of triglycerides into glycerol and fatty acids. These molecules are then eliminated from the body through the lymphatic and circulatory systems. Essentially, it is a non-surgical form of liposuction intended only for removing small, localized fat deposits in specific areas of the body and face. Patients suffering from obesity will not experience significant results from this procedure.

Indications for Injection Lipolysis

• Localized fat deposits:
• abdominal and buttock area
• upper arms and shoulder area
• outer and inner thighs
• fat folds around the knees
• chin area
• cheeks
• Cellulite

Mesotherapeutic Preparations Used for Injection

Sodium deoxycholate — a substance that disrupts the bonds in the membrane of fat cells, breaking them apart and allowing larger molecules of other substances to penetrate inside. It is usually combined with phosphatidylcholine.

Phosphatidylcholine — a phospholipid whose mechanism of action involves breaking down and emulsifying fats and removing fatty acids from the body through the circulatory system.

L-carnitine — binds released fatty acids and transports them into mitochondria for oxidation.

Organic silicon — activates the lipolysis process, stimulates fibroblast activity, and enhances elastin and collagen biosynthesis.

The cocktail may also include other lipolytic and vasoactive substances, various enzymes, and vitamins that stimulate microcirculation and thereby help remove fatty acids from the treated area via the lymphatic and circulatory systems.

Procedure Features:

• A series of procedures is required, ranging from 2 to 10 sessions with intervals of 10–14 days.
• After injections of the lipolytic cocktail, the patient should drink 200–300 ml of water, and daily water intake should be at least 2 liters.
• For 2–3 days immediately after the procedure, intense physical activity should be limited; afterward, increased movement is recommended.
• Following a balanced diet and proper nutrition can help prolong the results.
• Lymphatic drainage massage between lipolysis sessions (starting from the 3rd day after the procedure) helps eliminate waste products and toxins.
• After a course of lipolytic injections, improvement in skin condition is often observed.

Before the Procedure:

• Avoid alcohol consumption the day before and on the day of mesodissolution.
• Do not eat for 2 hours before the lipolysis procedure.
• If the patient is taking anticoagulants, they should consult their family doctor about whether it is possible to stop them approximately 2 weeks before the procedure. This can significantly reduce bruising and hematomas.

After the Procedure:

• Do not eat for 2 hours after the injections.
• Immediately drink 200–300 ml of water.
• For 3 days, do not visit a sauna, engage in sports, have massages, or undergo other аппаратные (device-based) procedures.
• Avoid sun exposure for 2 weeks after the lipolysis session.
• Swelling and redness, as well as burning or itching sensations, may appear in the injection area for several days. These symptoms usually resolve on their own within 3–4 days.
• Bruising may occur.
• Sometimes body temperature may rise up to 37°C (98.6°F).
• Nausea and reduced appetite are possible during the first 2 days.

Contraindications:

• Pregnancy and breastfeeding
• Cancer
• Allergy to components of the lipolytic cocktail (especially soy)
• Tendency to form keloid scars
• Liver and pancreatic diseases
• Severe heart and vascular diseases
• Chronic diseases during exacerbation
• Acute inflammatory and infectious diseases
